Ralph 'Torchy' Dames

Ralph 'Torchy' Dames of Oconomowoc entered into eternal life on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the age of 95 years.

He is survived by a son, Brett Dames of Houston, Texas. He is further survived by many friends and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother and dad, Lillian and William, and a son, Clayton Dames.

Torchy was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He flew many air lifts to Germany/Europe from December 1945 to October 1949.

He was a dedicated 62-year life member of the VFW Post 2260.

Torchy was the voice of 2260 throughout the country. He held numerous positions at the local, district, state, and national levels. He was also a 48-year lifetime member of the American Legion Post 91. He was the only dual commander of both posts.

At Torchy's request, he was privately cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
