Grace Loretta Bart (nee Ballachino)

Grace Loretta Bart (nee Ballachino) passed away February 25, 2015, three days short of her 97th birthday, in Dousman. A woman of many stirring stories and who would remind us to “always be kind to others.”

Grace was preceded in death by her husband Charles, who she met by way of USO letters during World War II and soon thereafter was whisked off her feet from the veritable comfort of Buffalo, N.Y., to a bucolic life in the never before visited land of Wisconsin. As a couple, they partnered by sharing a love of music and literature with family, friends and Charles’ many students.

She was also preceded in death by her son Paul and daughter Sarah.

Grace is survived by brother Vinnie; sons Nicholas, John (Katie) and David (Julie); granddaughters Catherine (Jim) Callaghan, Cecelia (Adam) Schlosser, Farrah Mason, Nika Bart and Lena Clouse; grandsons Aaron Bart, Andrew Bart and Anthony Bart; and great-grandchildren Molly, Brecken, Bryce Callaghan and Finn Schlosser. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Grace’s life was held Sunday, March 1, at Three Pillars Village on the Square Pavilion in Dousman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kettle Moraine Food Pantry, 705 Tomlin Road, Wales WI.
