Geraldine ‘Gerry’ Mae Serre
April 9, 1927 — March 10, 2015 

Geraldine “Gerry” Mae Serre, 87, South Range and former longtime Waukesha resident, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Middle River Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on April 9, 1927, in Superior, to John E. “Buzzy” and Helen (Bergren) Jones. Geraldine graduated from Poplar High School in Poplar. She was employed at Waukesha Centrifugal for many years.

She married Lester V. Serre on May 12, 1951 in Cloquet, Minn., and they celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing in November of 2012.

She enjoyed reading, traveling, driving, watching her birds and spending time with her family.

Geraldine is survived by three daughters, RoseMarie (Russ) Koth of Slinger, Dorothy Mae (Jeff) Lentz of Maple and Margy (Jim) Stuart of Hartland; one son, Lester J. (Michelle) Serre of Fairchild; seven grandchildren, Nicole Nelson, Philip Koth, Valerie Koth, Devrey Smith, Stephen Koth, Andrew Koth and Danielle Mae Strong; 14 great-grandchildren, Aidan, Teagan, Addison, Dane, Seth, Gabe, Sophia Mae, Erik, John, Tequan, Alyssa Geraldine, Ethan, Finley Mae and Parker; one sister, Dorothy (Ed) Muha of Superior; one brother, Ted (Donna) Jones of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 16, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 4315 E. 3rd St., Superior, and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Fr. Leon Flaherty as celebrant. Burial will be in Poplar Cemetery in Poplar.

Pallbearers for the service will be Geraldine’s grandchildren and Tom Peterman will be recognized as an honorary pallbearer.

Geraldine’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the wonderful care Geraldine received during her stay at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.
