Nancy Lee Brady-Freitag, age 57, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on March 20, 2015.
She was born in West Allis on June 1, 1957, to Ann and George Brady. She graduated in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in teaching from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She then received her master’s in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1987 and her Ph.D. in psychology from Marquette University in 1994. Twenty-two years of her professional life were spent as a psychologist at Stress Management and Mental Health in Waukesha, where she touched the lives of many clients.
Nancy fought a brief and valiant fight against cancer, and left behind a lasting impression on the people in her life.
She is survived by her husband, Mel; daughter, Ali; mother, Ann Brady; siblings, Jim (Lori) Brady, Diane (Jim) Knoll and Patricia (Bill) Pick; her nieces and nephews; and many friends and family. Nancy was also a friend of Lois and Bill Wilson since she was 17 years old.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Brady.
Visitation will be held on March 29 at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, from 1-3pm with a memorial service to follow, in which she requests her guests refrain from crying or her “crying bouncers” will ask you to leave. Mel and Ali will be the first people kicked to the parking lot. She’s kidding, but requests guests wear springtime colors in her honor.
