Irene M. ‘Auntie’ Patin


Irene M. 'Auntie' PatinIrene M. Patin of Hartland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the age of 96 years. Irene was born in Milwaukee, the daughter of Paul and Thecla Patin.

She entered the United States Air Force in 1951, proudly serving during the Korean Conflict until 1955, when she was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant.

Auntie was a housemother at Boys Town in Nebraska, where she helped children and healed families, giving them the hope they needed to turn their lives around. She worked in the kitchen at Park View Manor in Milwaukee until the age of 85. Auntie was an avid Brewers fan and watched as many games as she could on TV. She was very charitable to many missions around the world. Auntie mostly loved her family and never missed a holiday remembering them with a card for every occasion.

Irene will be lovingly missed by her many, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Brother Augustus (Bernard) Patin and Eugene (Kathleen) Patin; and sister, Anna “Pat” (Jim) Millane.

The visitation for Auntie will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March, 27, at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280-N2101 Prospect Ave. (Highway SS), Pewaukee, WI 53072. The Rev. Anthony Zimmer will be officiating. Complete Military Honors will immediately follow. Burial will be private at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.

Masses in Auntie’s name or memorials are appreciated to Hartland Terrace, 327 North Ave., Hartland, WI 53029.
