Richard James Pas
June 15, 1945 — March 24, 2015
Richard James Pas, 69, passed away March 24, 2015, from a heart attack. He was born to Ted and Eleanor (Wendt) Pas on June 15, 1945, in Madison.
He is survived by his wife, Gerry; daughters Emily (Eric) Isenberg and Carolyn (B.J.) Stone; five grandchildren; his sister, Kathryn Oleson; and many other relatives. Dick graduated from Wauwatosa West High School, received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Williams College, and a juris doctorate from University of Wisconsin Law School. He served as captain in the U.S. Army Reserves, and worked as economic analyst for the Congressional Research Service and as a counsel for the U.S. Small Business Administration. He was owner and president of Heartland Home Mortgage Company for 20 years before retiring. He co-founded the Trailbreaker Run in Waukesha.
Recently, Dick served three terms as chair of the Democratic Party of Waukesha County, and he was associated with numerous political, progressive and conservation organizations. Dick loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was very proud of his family and was fully engaged in his interests through the last day of his life.
There will be a remembrance event on Sunday, April 19, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oconomowoc Community Center, 220 W. Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc. It will be a time to celebrate Dick’s life and share stories.
