Doris A. Lurvey, age 94, of Dousman, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at the Masonic Home for Health and Rehabilitation in Dousman. She was born Aug. 22, 1920, in the Town of Sullivan to Edward and Bertha (Lean) Howell. Doris was a graduate of Oconomowoc High School. After high school, she worked at the Masonic Home in Dousman. She married Allan Lurvey on March 6, 1940. They operated a dairy farm in the Town of Ottawa with Allan’s brother, William. Allan retired in 1991 and they moved to Three Pillars in Dousman, where Doris enjoyed many card games with her family and friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa where she served on the Women’s Society.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Allan; her son Kenneth and sister, Bernice Hasselkus.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Judith (William) Legawiec of Eagle; son Karl (Karla Parry) of Dousman, daughter-in-law, Linda Lurvey of Dousman; grandchildren, Mark (Julie) Legawiec, Patricia (Dean) Kowalski, Kelly (Eric) Donaldson, Andy Lurvey, Kim Belton, Kari Alonso, and Brad Lurvey; 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Doris will be held on Thursday, April 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa 35415 Highway D, Dousman (corner of highways C and D) with Rev. Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Ottawa Cemetery. Visitation will at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
