July 8, 1919 — April 1, 2015
“She lived a graceful life.
She died a graceful death.”
Inez Zillmer of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the age of 95 years. She was born on July 8, 1919, in Jordan Center, the daughter of Stephen and Minnie Dewar.
Inez attended Waukesha High School and graduated in 1937 as a member of the National Honors Society. In 1960, Inez married Howard Zillmer, her beloved husband of 48 years. Together they operated Zillmer Electric in Waukesha until they retired and moved to Punta Gorda in 1984. Inez and Howard spent much of their retired life boating and traveling.
Inez loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed baking (sugar cookies and marble cake were her specialties), playing cards and telling stories about the adventures she enjoyed while boating America’s Great Loop. Inez was also a Wisconsin sports fan, never missing the chance to listen to or watch a Milwaukee Brewers game. Inez had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. Her warm heart and caring nature will never be forgotten.
Inez will be sadly missed by her daughters, Judith (Erwin) Bertram and Janet (Charles) Betker, both of Waukesha; stepchild Alice (Norm) Schultz and family of Waukesha; grandchildren Wendy (Rich) Grilli, Jill (Dave) Brzeski and Tammy Bertram; great-grandchildren Brandon Windorff, James Leipski, Austin and Jenna Brzeski; and great-great-grandchild Parker Windorff. She is further survived by a sister, Betty (Gilbert) Schroedel of Friendship.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Donnie Dewar, Eugene Dewar and Evelyn McNett; her husband, Howard Zillmer; and her stepson Charles Zillmer.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 11:30 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
