Wencil Thomas ‘Jonesy’ Jones

Wencil T. “Jonesy” Jones, a longtime resident of Waukesha, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, surrounded by his family at Seasons Hospice at the age of 89 years. Wencil was born on Nov. 10, 1925, in Linden, the son of Elmer and Annie (Blackney) Jones.
He proudly served during World War II in the U.S. Army. Wencil married Audrey (Dibben) on Nov. 27, 1948, in Waukesha. He worked for Dale Chevrolet before starting his own business in 1955. Glenn Rock Motors became a family business that was passed down for the next two generations and continues to be in operation to this day. He was a founding member of the Waukesha Old Car Club and a longtime member of the VFW Post #721 Soat Vergenz. Wencil had not only a love for cars, but for gambling, especially blackjack and craps.
Wencil will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years, Audrey; his children, Gary (Dawn Bednarek) of Pewaukee and Larry (Denise) of Waukesha; his grandchildren, Shawn (Shavon), Amy (Jim Bortman), Sara, Charlie (Roxanne), Samantha (Mike Pollich) and Seth; his great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Jacob, Jared, Joseph, Paige, Trenton and Bailey; his sister, Delores (Richard) Blankenhagen of Waukesha; and his daughter-in-law, Kathy (the late Randy) Jones. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Randy; brother Dale; and sisters Mary Ludtke, Ruth Ulness and Catherine Lucht.
The visitation for Wencil will be held on Sunday, April 12, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the 3:30 p.m. service at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, followed by full military honors. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha, on at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13 (meet in front of the cemetery office).
