Loren W. Holzhueter of Oconomowoc passed away April 21, 2015, at his home after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis with his family at his side.
Loren Waldo Holzhueter was born on Sept. 17, 1945, the son of Waldo A. and Isadora I. (Zastrow) Holzhueter, in Oconomowoc. He lived his entire life on the Holzhueter Homestead in the Town of Ixonia. He graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1963.
On Aug. 30, 1969, he married the former Arlene M. Beck at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. They have one son, Aaron L. Holzhueter. He was a member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene M.; son, Aaron L.; and sister, Louann (Stan) Kuehl. He is also survived by a brother-inlaw and sister-in-law, Melvin and Carol Nass of Watertown; sisters-in-law Cheryl Beck and Brenda Beck, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Loren was preceded in death by parents, Waldo and Isadora; his in-laws, Edwin and Elvira Beck; brothers-in-law Kenneth Beck and Ronald Beck, and a nephew, Jason Beck.
In his spare time, Lorenís greatest enjoyment and pride was working on the Holzhueter Homestead farm.
Funeral services for Loren will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc with the Rev. Lance OíDonnell officiating. Relatives and friends may gather at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paulís Organ Fund, the American Lung Association, or the charity of oneís choice.
