Willard ‘Bill’ Conk

Willard “Bill” Conk, 91, died unexpectedly April 24, 2015, in Vero Beach, Fla. Bill was born May 24, 1923, in Freehold, N.J., to Charles and Anna Conk. He followed his older brothers to Waukesha in his teens.
He served our country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Force in the South Pacific. Before enlisting, he worked at Hein-Werner Company in Waukesha. After the war, he came back to work at Hein-Werner until he retired.
Bill had a quick wit and great sense of humor. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He loved working in his garden. He was a longtime member of the Elks Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Margaret; three brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by his second wife, Shirley; two daughters, Barbara (Rick) Albrechtson of La Crosse and Kathleen (Paul) Durant of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Rebecca (Todd) Somers and Amy Maves; and three great-grandchildren, Drake, Kale and Aiden Maves.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, May 16, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Chapel, S22-W22890 E. Broadway, Waukesha.
