William R. ‘Bill’ Harris
Bill R. Harris of Mukwonago passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the age of 97 years. He was the son of Clayton and Emma Harris. Bill was drafted in 1943 and was a proud World War II United States Army veteran; in the three years he was overseas, he had endured incredible situations. He served under General Omar Bradley and General George Patton’s third army. When Bill returned home in 1945, he started his career with the Waukesha County Highway Department, where he was a loyal and devoted worker for 35 years. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Zamorski, on July 29, 1950, and has been a member of the first Congregational Church of Mukwonago for many years. Bill enjoyed golfing, boating and traveling.
Bill will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law, Robert (Marjorie) Zamorski of Waukesha, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Dorothy.
A visitation for Bill will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Friday, May 22, at The First Congregational Church of Mukwonago, 231 Roberts Drive, Mukwonago, WI 53149. The burial will immediately follow at Mukwonago Oak Knoll Cemetery, with full military honors.
