Michael James Petrie, 66, passed away on May 26, 2015, at his daughter’s home in Appleton. He was born on January 7, 1949, in Milwaukee, to David and Alice Petrie.

Michael grew up in Big Bend. He graduated from Mukwonago Union High in Mukwonago in 1967. During high school, he received many awards for cross country and track, including state champ and all-conference. He worked hard all his life to provide for his family and retired a few years ago to enjoy life in Wild Rose. Michael was a social man with a big heart who would always lend hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed many things, including hunting, fishing, horseshoes, bowling, pool, darts, snowmobiling, and let’s not forget his Friday run.

Michael is survived by his daughters Ashley Petrie and Megan (Matt) Rosplochowski, and four other children Stacey, Michelle, Patrick and Amanda; and his four grandchildren Nevaeh (13), Morgan (13), Matthew (5), and Charlotte (1). He is also survived by his brothers Richard “Richy” (Linda) of Big Bend, Steven “Rusty” of Eagle, David “Skippy” of Waukesha, and Andrew (“Andy”) of Friendship; and his sister Carole “Carrie” of New Lisbon, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, David and Alice Petrie, and his brother Daniel “Danny” Petrie.

Per request of Michael, there will be no funeral.

Michael wanted his life to be celebrated with a gathering of all his friends and family. The gathering will be held Saturday, May 30, at 1:30PM at Sluggers Sports Bar in Wild Rose.
