March 20, 1935 May 31, 2015

David J. BerglundDavid J. Berglund, age 80, of Pewaukee, graduated to glory on May 31, 2015, following a valiant battle with cancer.

David was born March 20, 1935, in Ashland, son of the late Fred and Irene Berglund.

David pursued a teaching degree, receiving a diploma from Ashland County Teachers College, a bachelor’s degree in education from UW-Whitewater and his Master of Science from UW-Milwaukee. His career included teaching positions at Mill Valley School in Muskego, Quarry School in Waukesha, and New Berlin Center and Eisenhower Middle School in New Berlin. David also served as school principal at Eisenhower Middle School, and Glen Park, Calhoun and Orchard Lane Elementary schools. David also served his country in the 32nd Division National Guard during the Berlin Crisis, October 1961 to August 1962.

David and his wife, Nancee, were married in 1956, and settled in the Waukesha area. They and their two wonderful sons, Barry and Bruce, enjoyed special times “up north” in the summers, camping and fishing with family and friends. They also were very involved in their church, and their personal faith in Jesus Christ was the hallmark of their family life. In later years, David and Nancee also enjoyed the Florida snowbird life during several winters. David was a dedicated member of the Gideons International, helping to provide Bibles locally and around the world, as well as participating in a local prison visitation ministry. David loved the Lord, his family and his friends (and the Brewers and the Packers!), and he will be missed by those who knew him best and loved him most his family.

David is survived by his wife, Nancee (Lindblad) Berglund of Pewaukee; sons Barry (Ann) Berglund of Elkhorn, Neb., and Bruce (Cathleen) of Palatine, Ill.; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Christian) Stillman of Omaha, Neb., Abby (Tyler) Anderson of Omaha, BIlly (Hannah) Berglund of St.

Bonafacius, Minn., Cameron and Taylor Berglund of Palentine; and two great-granddaughters, Katherine Stillman and Theodora Anderson. He is also survived by one niece, Eileen (Mike) Reuss, and great-nephew, Jack Reuss, of Woodbury, Minn.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Irene Berglund, and his sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Robert Short.
