Ruth H. Larson

Ruth Hazel Larson, 87, died June 12, 2015, at LindenGrove Nursing Home, Waukesha, of complications of dementia. She was born on April 4, 1928, in Hawkins, the daughter of Charles and May (Miller) Pobanz.
She married her late husband, Helmer Daniel Larson, on July 3, 1948, at the Hope Lutheran Church. They were married for 59 years.
They farmed together and raised four children in Ladysmith until 1971 when Helmer received his degree in mechanical drafting from Rice Lake Vocational Technical School and accepted a position in Milwaukee. The family moved to Waukesha. Ruth accepted a position at Waukesha County Mental Health Clinic as a medical records clerk and retired from Waukesha County in 1993. In retirement, she enjoyed her family and traveled the U.S. with Helmer. She occupied her time volunteering at church, crafting, sewing and crocheting. Most of her handy work was donated to help support the church or needy in the community.
Ruth is survived by a son, Daniel E. Larson of Waukesha; daughters Peggy D. (Michael) Bozek of Esko, Minn., and Catherine E. (Darwin) Moore of Waukesha; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Helmer; son Glenn; parents; and seven siblings.
Visitation is at 1 p.m. with services following at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Nash-Jackan Funeral Home, Ladysmith. The Rev. Gary Paul, Ruth’s nephew, will officiate. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Ladysmith.
