Margaret (Berg) Bentz Joy

July 15, 1919 — June 10, 2015

Margaret (Berg) Bentz Joy, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 10, 2015, at Manor Care of Pewaukee.

She was born July 15, 1919, to Ella and Christian Berg and lived in Peshtigo, Milwaukee, Pewaukee, Colorado and Arizona.

In her usual selfless manner, she donated her body to UW-Madison Medical School.

To know Margaret was to love her. Anyone who met her became a life-long friend. Her dazzling smile reflected her eternal optimism and upbeat character. Loving, kind, faithful and compassionate, she touched many lives. She was devoted to caring for other people. Because of her nurturing nature, she was often “adopted” as a mother.

Margaret was beloved by her daughters, Pat Ramge of Helenville and Lee Bentz (Michael Brandemuehl) of Niwot, Colo. Her devoted granddaughters include Jeannette O’Toole of Pewaukee, Anibel Brandemuehl of Denver, Colo., and grandson Noel Ramge (Lisa Wellnitz) of Helenville. Her adoring great-grandson is Sean O’Toole of Madison. Many family members and friends who treasured their time with her will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Bentz; her second husband, Howard Joy; and her longtime companion, Howard Mosby.

To celebrate her long and full life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, at 1 pm with a reception following at Galilee Lutheran Church in Pewaukee.

To reflect her generous nature, the family requests no flowers and would suggest a donation to the church instead: Galilee Lutheran Church, Attn: Marge Joy Memorial Fund, N24-W26430 Crestview Drive, Pewaukee, WI 53072.
