Mary Ann Andrews nee Pier
July 13, 1929 — July 1, 2015
Mary Ann Andrews, formerly of Waukesha, died peacefully at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona, on July 1, 2015.
Visitation will be at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur, Illinois, at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, with the funeral at 2 p.m.
Born Mary Ann Pier on July 13, 1929, to William O. and Mabel (Wright) Pier, she graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and married Keith Andrews on December 25, 1947.
She was a homemaker, and worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and for the Social Security Administration in Waukesha, retiring in August of 1990.
Mary Ann enjoyed her family, cooking, sewing and collecting antiques. In her later years, she became skilled at crocheting rag rugs.
She is survived by three sisters: Jane Gaffron of Bloomington, Illinois; Nancy Simroth of Charlottesville, Virginia; and Pat Bell of Arvada, Colorado; her husband; her three children: John Steven (Pam) of St. Rose, Illinois; Jim (Dianne) of Sherrard, Illinois; and Mary Jane of Tempe, Arizona; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
