Richard James ‘Dick’Weinfurt
May 15, 1938 — July 5, 2015
Richard James “Dick” Weinfurt of Waukesha passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015, at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 77 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on May 15, 1938, in Chicago, the son of William and Grace.
Dick worked as a surveyor at the state of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for many years. Dick was an outdoorsman, whose passion was dog sled racing, trapping, hunting, sail boat racing and photography. Above all, the most important thing to Dick was God, his family and his country.
Dick will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Donna; children, Michael (Renee’), Patrick (Lora), Daniel, Theresa (Dick) Heckel and Brian (Julie); grandchildren, Alyssa (Jimmy) Baker, Joseph, Jamie, Jenna, David, Sarah, Nickolas, Samantha and Matthew; great-grandchild, Charlotte; brothers, Phil (Mary) and Greg (Jan); daughter-in-law, Beth Dietz-Weinfurt; and many other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The visitation for Dick will be held on Friday, July 10, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The burial will follow the Mass at 5:30 p.m. at St. Bruno Cemetery.
