Bernice ‘Bernie’ Mary Grundman
 

Bernice “Bernie” Mary Grundman passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Seasons Hospice on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the age of 92. Bernice was a longtime and very active member of St. William Catholic Church since 1958. She was a member of the Catholic Study Club, Christian Mothers Group, served on the St. William School Board and developed the Sorrowful Mothers Circle. Bernie started and took charge of the funeral luncheon program for over 30 years. She worked their church festivals along with many other church activities. She was an avid cook and baker and enjoyed playing cards, but above all loved her family gatherings.

Bernie will be deeply missed by her children, Edward (Sharon) Grundman, Mary (David) Holmes, Joseph (Diane) Grundman, Gerald (Marie) Grundman and Beverly (Rick) Howe; 12 grandchildren, Tammy Last, Barb (Tim) Werner, Scott Grundman, Karen (Rod) Setum, Sandra (Chuck) Moldenhauer, Cheryl Williams, Dennis (Heather) Holmes, Andy (Dawn) Grundman, Amy (Drew) La Roche, Steve Zickau, Jennifer Zickau (fiancé Justin Nau) and Colleen (Tony) D’Amato; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward; her parents, Raymond and Ester (Houk) Mundschau; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Julia Grundman; her brother and sister-in-law, Bob (Kate) Mundschau; son-in-law, Bill Zickau; and grandson-in-law, Earl Williams.

The visitation for Bernie will be held on Monday, July 13, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The second visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. William Catholic Church (see address above).
