Robert A. ‘Bob’ Ruhs

Robert A.“Bob” Ruhs of Nekoosa, formerly of Oconomowoc, stepped into eternity July 7, 2015, after a massive stroke complicated by heart disease and diabetes. He was born in Watertown on February 11, 1945, to Herbert and Lilly (Uebel) Ruhs of Ixonia.
He graduated Oconomowoc High School 1963, served his country in Vietnam, married Debora A. Henschel (Debi) on September 21, 1974, in Waukesha, lived in the Oconomowoc area and worked at R.T.E.
Corp/Cooper Power 41 years, retiring in July 2011 and moving to Nekoosa. He became a licensed minister in 2005, was known for his patriotism, mercy, compassion, kindness and generosity. He loved the old classic cars, reading, gospel music, and taking walks on the farm.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debi; his daughter, Tricia (Wisconsin Rapids), who brought him great delight; his grandsons, Tyler Klotz (17) and Nathan Simmons (10); two brothers Dale Ruhs and Kenneth (Diana) Ruhs; four sisters, Karen (Richard) Hoeft, Sandy Mayer, Joan (Steve) Chivers and Bonnie (Tom) Kuester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Lilly Ruhs; his in-laws David and Alice Henschel; brother-in-laws Tim Henschel and Richard Hoeft; and sister-in-law Colleen (Henschel) Dorn.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of funeral service at 12:30 PM on Saturday, July 18, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc.
