Rosetta Sweed (nee Safer) of Waukesha passed away on August 17, 2015, at the age of 89.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Dr. Aaron Sweed.
She was the cherished mother of Laurie (Stuart) Schwartz of Centennial, Colo., Dr. Bruce (Noga) Ben David of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Deborah (Stuart) Byer of Vero Beach, Fla.; loving grandmother of Jason (Maria) and Sarah (Joey) Ross, Eyal (Natalie), Shai and Yuval Ben David, and Jennifer, Grace and Isaac Byer; and great-grandmother of Lydia and Fiona Ross and Alex Ben David. She is also survived by her dear sister Marjorie Kulakow, many other dear relatives and friends.
Rosetta was born in Milwaukee on August 26, 1925, graduating from Washington High School. She went on to earn her nursing degree at Mount Sinai Hospital School of Nursing. She met her future husband, Aaron, while studying in the medical library. After a whirlwind romance, they married while he was home on leave. After the war they moved to Baltimore, Md., while Aaron completed his residency. In 1950, they moved to Waukesha, where she resided for 65 years.
She was very active in the Waukesha community including the Waukesha Service Club, Waukesha Symphony and Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, at 1:00 PM at Second Home Cemetery, 3705 S. 43rd St., Milwaukee.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions made to Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha are appreciated.
