Max J. Horwatich
Max J. Horwatich of Hartland went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at the age of 81. Max was born on April 2, 1934, in Waukesha, to parents Max Sr. and Pauline (nee Yarotta) Horwatich.
He is survived by his best friend, his wife of 40 years, Judy (nee Teutenberg).
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Marion Brandt; and brothers Emil and Steve Horwatich.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Ken (Judy) Horwatich, Doreen (Carl) Maahs, Bob (Debby) Horwatich, Tim (Theresa) Wagner, Pam (Dennis) Condon, Jim Horwatich, Sue (Gary Nuernberger) Horwatich and Debbie (Ed) Donovan; his grandchildren, Kyle, Justin (fiancée Lyndsey Thruman), Katelin and Jenna Condon, Alex, Abby, Allie, Tyler and Troy Horwatich, Cody McLain, LeeAnn Gutknecht, Sara and Lauren Donovan, Eric Nuernberger and Josh Boygenga; and great-grandson Patrick Donovan. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Max was a graduate of Hartland High School and UW-Platteville with a degree in agriculture. He retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 34 years.
He was a member of Waukesha County Agri-Business Council and a faithful member of St. Charles Catholic Church as a greeter, usher and member of St. Vincent DePaul. A Jack of all trades, Max was able to fix just about anything. He enjoyed gardening, traveling with the love of his life, Judy, cooking, baking his famous strudel, being an avid Packers fan and most of all spending time with family, grandchildren and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 3, at 6:00 pm at St. Charles Parish, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland. Visitation will be at the church from 3:00 pm until the time of Mass. His final rest will be at St. Charles Cemetery.
