Dean M. Rindahl, age 82, of Stone Lake, passed away on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at his home.
Dean Marvin was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Battle Lake, Minn., the son of Oscar and Julia (Carlson) Rindahl. He attended school in Watertown. Dean joined the U.S. Navy on Oct.
24, 1951, and served during the Korean War. While in the service, he earned the National Defense Service Ribbon and the Navy Occupation Medal. After his time in the service he moved to Waukesha, where he operated Dean’s Barber Shop and was an alderman for the 14th district. In 1974 Dean moved to Stone Lake and became partners in Grey’s Barber Shop on Main Street of Hayward.
He worked at Grey’s until his retirement this year. On Feb. 5, 1988, Dean was joined in marriage to Mariann Meyer in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Dean was an avid hunter and fisherman and was fond of golf, bowling, darts and his winter trips to Mexico. He was a member of the Stone Lake Lions Club.
He is dearly loved and missed by his wife, Mariann; sons Dean (Terri) Rindahl of Hartland and Jeff (Cindy) Rindahl of Hayward; daughters Cindy (Steve) Page of Milton Mills, N.H., and Pam (John) Dietrich of Cameron; three stepchildren, Kirsten Mularky of Owatonna, Minn., Jenny Strama of Hayward, and Richard “Duke” (Jenny) Bunker of Bangor; 13 grandchildren, Edward, Ted, Andrew, Robert, Ryan, Britney, Tonya, Tiffany, Liana, Madison, Megan, Mary, and Taylor; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Don and Marshall Rindahl.
A private family gathering will be held for Dean.
