Clarence ‘Jack’ James Hunkins

Clarence “Jack” James Hunkins passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 3, 2015. He was born on September 17, 1931, to parents William and Angeline (Grant) Hunkins in Waukesha.

Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Navy during the Korean War. He was united in marriage on September 1, 1956, to Beverly Pelky (Sengstock) in Hartland. Jack was a jack of all trades.

Jack converted two busses into motor homes and loved to travel all around the country. Back and forth on Old Route 66 from Wisconsin to California was his favorite trail.

Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Beverly Hunkins; eight children, Cheryl Strauss, Linda (David) Jetzer, Gail (special friend Eric Korb) Hunkins, Ricky (Ines) Hunkins, Susan Noe, Sandra (Scott) Doro, Tammy (Vern) Traxler and Michael (Lori) Hunkins; 21 grandchildren, Beth, Kenneth, Aaron, Tracy, Jeremiah, Angel, Brian, Abby, Melony, Christopher, Kelley, Brandon, Joshua, Joseph, Jamie, Julie, Tiffany, Cassidy, Ethan, Mikayla and Jacob; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene (Glenda) Hunkins; one sister, Violet Lawton; brothers-in-law Keith (Linda) Sengstock, Dennis (Jeanne) Sengstock and Allan Sengstock; and one sister-in-law, Lois Krueger. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bill, John, Robert and Albert Hunkins; and two sisters, Mae Vredenburg and Anna Boone.

A time of visitation and support will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park — Garden of Peace Chapel, 6706 Superior Ave., on Tuesday, September 8, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Greg Whelton presiding. Military honors and committal to follow.
