John J. Maday

John J. Maday, 88, passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 3, 2015. John was born on December 23, 1926, in Chicago. He served in the Navy and was one of our World War II vets.

John attended Dartmouth and received a bachelorís degree from University of Illinois. He was a great salesman and he enjoyed his work selling to schools.

Always the Good Samaritan, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels for over 30 years. He was active in Kiwanis and Learning in Retirement and particularly loved coordinating speakers.

He is survived by his children Debbie Parks (Larry), John Maday (Jane), Judy Sullivan (Bob), Peggy Maday and Jeni Erdman (Dan); grandchildren, John, Lauren and Kristin Tuschall, Ian and Margaret Maday, Kara Mlachnik (Deano), Amanda and Kelli Sullivan, Thomas (Iren) and Josiah Schiller (Alissa), Joe, Andy and Emma Erdman; great-granddaughter Gianna Schiller; and other relatives and friends. He loved and will miss his grand-puppies Elvis, Patsy, Lily, Scarlet, Hank, Japer, Jordon, Lucy, Kaba, and Lacy, along with his grandcat Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, of over 50 years; his parents, John and Mary Maday; sister Rose; brothers Al and Leo; and grandson Joshua Schiller.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 20, at 4:30 pm at Avalon Square Chapel, 222 Park Place, Waukesha. The family will greet family and friends one hour before the service and at a dinner to follow.

Memorials are suggested to the Caring Place (Meals on Wheels) or Waukesha Learning in Retirement.

John will be remembered as an involved father and grandfather who never missed an opportunity to see his grandchildren in school events or anything they were involved in. John was actively involved in the church, excelled at golf and loved a competitive game of poker or bridge. He will be deeply missed as a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend and dog lover.
