Robert Hill Wilson
Robert Hill Wilson passed away peacefully after a long and heroic fight with a spinal tumor on Sept. 5, 2015, at his home in Oconomowoc. He lived there for the last 58 years. He was 85 years old.
He was born on July 7, 1930, to the late Isabel and Arthur Wilson. He lived his youth in Green Bay. He went to high school at St. Norbert’s in Green Bay and attended Northwestern University. In 1950, he married Carol Jean Merrett Wilson and together they had four children, who all survive him.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Merrett Wilson; daughter Lyn Wilson Hoeft and husband Dr. Thomas Hoeft of Appleton, and their three children: Dr. Susan Lyn Dando, Thomas John Hoeft and Peter David Hoeft; daughter Anne Meyer Wilson of Jacksonville, Fla., and her three children: Dr.
Kelley Dwyer Grorud, John Dwyer and Michael Dwyer; daughter Claire Wilson Dehnert and her husband Gary Dehnert of Watertown, and her two children: David Carpenter and Daniel Carpenter; and son Robert F. Wilson and wife Sheila of Dousman, and their two children: Bobby Wilson and Laura Wilson. He also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, John F. Wilson of Fish Creek; his niece Sudie Wilson Burnham; and nephews John Wilson Jr. and Nicholas Wilson.
The family would like to extend special thanks to these caring people who lovingly helped care for their dad at the end: Kay Oldenburg, Trista Wigtion, Johanna Kochaniak, Dave Pelton and Jodi and Sam Chaput.
His “Life’s Celebration” will be held privately at Schwefel’s in Oconomowoc on Sept. 19 from 1:00 to 4:00 for his family and friends.
