Oct. 4, 1921 June 20, 2015

Edward Ralph Westrick Sr.Edward Ralph Westrick Sr., 93, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Wisconsin, passed away on June 20, 2015, in Arizona. Ed was born on October 4, 1921, to Ralph Edward Westrick (Esther Elliott) in Shopiere.

Ed is survived by his children, Sharon (Bill) Warmka of Tucson, Karen (Angelo) Vento of Tucson, Edward (Karen) Westrick Jr. of North Prairie and Erlan Westrick of Noel, Mo.; and his cousin, Duane Flood of Waukesha. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren with two more due in October, other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (nee Cummings); parents, Ralph and Esther; and his sister Dorothy.

On December 21, 1941, he married Ruth Cummings in Iowa. Ed and Ruth spent many years farming a huge dairy farm just south of North Prairie. Ed also worked for the Town of LaGrange as a road supervisor, retiring in 1986. After his retirement, Ed and his wife Ruth enjoyed traveling in their RV. They belonged to an active camper group in their later years, and enjoyed many friendships with this group.

Ed was a very independent person and lived on his own until the age of 92 and while he lived in Sullivan he would go to Pickets to have coffee with the old boys (even though he was the oldest one there). Also once a week he would drive to Jefferson to have lunch at the Riverfront. He enjoyed playing euchre with family and friends any chance he got (even though he did not have a very good poker face) and if the family was not available he would play on his computer and laugh as he played. Ed also enjoyed always having a new car or especially his truck, but he really enjoyed his Chrysler 200 because it was cheap on gas.

A Celebration of Life for Ed will be held on Saturday, October 3, from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Thelen Funeral Services, W309-S4840 Commercial Drive, Genesee/ North Prairie (northwest corner of highways 83 and 59).
