Richard P. ‘Dick’ Jahnke
Richard P. “Dick” Jahnke of Waukesha died on Monday, September 21, 2015, surrounded by his family at the age of 86. He was born in Milwaukee on December 11, 1928, the son of Walter and Ann Jahnke.
Dick graduated from Marquette University with a degree in civil engineering. While there, he met the love of his life, Louise Mitten Jahnke, whom he married on November 10, 1951. In 1961, he and his brother John co-founded Jahnke & Jahnke Associates, Inc., an engineering consulting firm based in Waukesha. Dick was an active member of St.
Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a devoted family man who enjoyed photography, Scouting, travel, and following his favorite sports teams.
Dick will be dearly missed by his daughters, Kathleen (Paul) Hoffman and Mary Lynn Jahnke; grandchildren, Mara (Chris) Palen, Michael and Matthew (Marisa); greatgranddaughter, Avery Louise Palen; and brother, John (Eleanor) Jahnke.
Dick is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; son, James Joseph Jahnke; his parents; and sister Barbara Megna.
The visitation for Dick will be held on Friday, September 25, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N.
East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Javier Bustos will be officiating.
Burial will immediately follow the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Waukesha.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dick’s name may be directed to Marquette University, 1250 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53201 or St. Joseph Catholic Church (see address above).
Dick and Louise are overjoyed to be reunited and are already planning their wedding in heaven.
