Mabel L. Rusch
Mabel L. Rusch, 94, of West Bend, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at Lighthouse of West Bend.
Mabel was born on Jan. 11, 1921, to the late Paul and Louise (Kasten) Liesener. On Nov. 7, 1943, she was united in marriage to Elmer Rusch at David Star Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jackson. Elmer preceded Mabel in death on Aug. 1, 1983.
Mabel was a longtime member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha. She enjoyed being a member of the ladies aid at church and hosting many of the members of the church at her home. Mabel liked to garden and can her home grown vegetables.
Those Mabel leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, James Rusch of Oconomowoc, Darlene (Dick) Harris of Lomira, Dennis (Marilee) Rusch of Pewaukee and Sally (James Gregory) Chason of Spring Hill, Tenn.; a son-in-law, the Rev. Andrew Backus; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Nancy) Liesener of Largo, Fla., many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mabel was preceded in death by two children, Milton Rusch and Dee Backus, and two brothers, Delwyn and Roger Liesener.
A memorial service for Mabel will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha.
Mabel’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. The Rev. Lawrence Gates will be officiating with a luncheon to follow.
A private family entombment will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial to Wisconsin Lutheran High School are appreciated.
