A. ‘Jeff’ Armstrong
Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Armstrong, age 54, of Waukesha, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks.
Jeff was born on February 25, 1961, in Medford, to the late Jolly L. Armstrong and Clara F. Leuthy.He attended Hannibal elementary schools and was a 1979 graduate of Gilman High School in Gilman, where he was class valedictorian. He was married to Lori Gavinski on March 19, 1988, at All Saints Church in Oak Creek. They were later divorced after 17 years of marriage.
After his education, he moved to Milwaukee where he worked for Routh Construction as a rough carpenter. He then went on to work at Heartland Check Printing in Waukesha for 10 years. He then worked as a union carpenter and built homes in the Waukesha area until an accident forced an early retirement in 2004. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bow leagues, riding ATV and anything outdoors. He was also a member of the Golden Arrow Bow Club of Waukesha.
Jeff is survived by his daughters, Nicole Armstrong of Mukwonago, Jamie Armstrong and Jacolyn “Jackie” Armstrong, both of Greenfield; sisters Peggy (Duane) Dassow of Burlington and Connie (Ray) Griesbach of Rhinelander; his twin brother, Jan (Barb) Armstrong of Medford; and Fred E. (Kelly) Emstrom of Medford. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Fred G. Emstrom.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 21, at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, with the Rev. David Clements officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 20, at the Hemer Funeral Home, and also from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Wednesday. Burial will take place at the Perkinstown Community Cemetery, Township of Grover.
