Philip I. ‘Phil’ Marshment
Phil I. Marshment of Waukesha passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, peacefully at his home at the age of 84.
He was born in Oak Park, Ill., the son of Philip H. and Mae Marshment.
Phil graduated in 1949 from Waukegan High School in Illinois. He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran.
Phil married the love of his life, Bette G. Evans, on September 20, 1952. They spent three years in Bermuda after they were married because Phil was stationed there for the Air Force. They moved back to Waukegan in 1956, where they started their family of two children. In 1965, they moved to Waukesha where Phil worked as a salesman. He worked for U.S. Envelope Company.
Phil enjoyed being an adult leader for the Boy Scouts; loved to play cribbage; enjoyed being a Packers fan and going to games at Milwaukee County Stadium and Lambeau Field. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion in Waukesha. Phil and Bette often spent winters in Florida for about 10 to 12 years and enjoyed going back to Bermuda five times by cruise ship.
Phil will be dearly missed by his son, Michael Marshment; grandchildren, Emily, Mathew and Caroline; and brother-in-law, Mike Anhalt.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bette (May 5, 2014); daughter, Cindy Anhalt; brother, Charles; and daughter-in-law, Micki.
The visitation for Phil will be held from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the 6:00 p.m. memorial service on Friday, October 23, at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St., Waukesha, WI 53188. Inurnment will take place in the Columbarium Room at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Phil’s name to the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin, 16555 W. Bluemound Road, Suite 240, Brookfield, WI 53005, are appreciated.
