Elaine Miller (nee Ninham)
Elaine Miller (nee Ninham), a resident of Waukesha and DeFuniak Springs, Fla., passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015 at the age of 65 years. She was born on the Oneida Reservation in Wisconsin, the daughter of Omar and Irene Ninham. On Sept. 29, 1979, Elaine married the love of her life, John Miller. For 22 years, she worked as a school bus driver for Dairyland Buses Inc.. Elaine was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s Auxiliary, as well as a member of DeFuniak Spring Country Club and St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church in DeFuniak Springs and St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Waukesha. She enjoyed Native American bead work, cooking, golf, and she loved seeing the dolphins swim alongside her while she was boating.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, John; children, Lygia (Mark) Sie, Cindy Miller, Daniel Miller, Frances (Steve) Smith and Paul Ninham; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Marcia (Jerry) Sanapaw of Keshena and Anderson Ninham of West Allis. She is further survived by her dear pet, Little Bear, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings.
The visitation for Elaine will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St., Waukesha, WI 53188 until the time of the 12 noon funeral service. The Rev. Fr. David Simmons will officiate. The burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.
