William J. ‘Bill’ Howard

William (Bill) J. Howard, age 78, of Anderson, S.C., formerly of Sullivan, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Rainey House Hospice with his wife, Dixie Howard, at his side. Born on Nov. 8, 193,6 to William and Margaret (Beitzer) Howard, Bill grew up with his two brothers in Milwaukee.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Dixie; daughter Colleen (Michael) Page of Coon Rapids, Minn.,, son Kevin (Mary) Howard of Oconomowoc, daughter Eileen (Tom) McMullen of Nowthen, Minn., stepdaughter Leah (Brian) Thorp of Sullivan, stepson Tony (Tricia) Halford of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandsons, three step-grandsons, one step-granddaughter and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gary Howard and Jim Howard, and step-grandson Isaac Halford.

Bill spent the first 28 years of his working career in the printing ink business in the Milwaukee area. After leaving the ink business, he and his wife owned and operated multiple Merry Maids franchises in the Lake Country area, Dodge County and Dane County and were part owners in The Oasis Salon & Spa in Watertown. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and gathering with family and friends. Bill and his wife retired to Anderson, S.C. in 2014.

Per his wishes, Bill was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
