George Horton Egan

George Horton Egan of Waukesha died on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his home at age 87.

He was born in Chicago, IL on October 11, 1928 the son of George and Frances (nee Murphy) Egan.

He attended Carroll College and served in the United States Army. George was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he enjoyed serving as commodore of the 9th District.

George gave generously of his time volunteering with many organizations throughout the community.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, June (nee Krause) of Waukesha; his sister, Nancy Tarr of Ohio; nieces and nephews Randy Tarr, Mary (Jack) Deas and Charlie Tarr; great-niece Katie (Allan) Pierron; and a great-great-nephew Hudson Allan Pierron. He is also survived by nieces Sherry Durkee and Marlene (the late Timothy) Krause; great-nieces and great-nephews Lorie (Dave) Riviere, Jay (Sara) Durkee, Tim (Kim) Krause and Mike Krause; and his great-great-nieces and nephews Leona, Emily, Tom, Tim, Felecia and Isabell. He is further survived by many cousins, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. memorial service at St. Markís Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha, WI 53188. Pastor Andy Fetters will preside. Private interment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.
