Estel ‘Wayne’ Adcock

Estel “Wayne” Adcock, age 76, of North Lake, entered eternal life on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Franklin Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee.
Wayne was born in Doddridge, Arkansas, to Emit Estel and Vera O. Adcock on September 3, 1939. He was united in marriage to Linda A. Collom on August 18, 1959, in Atlanta, Texas. She preceded him in death in 2012. He was united in marriage to Emily Guderyon on September 21, 2013, at the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha.
Wayne graduated with a doctorate degree in theology from the University of Dubuque in Iowa in 1984. He will be remembered fondly of his devoted ministry to God and the church until he was no longer able as of September 2015. Wayne was a member of the Milwaukee Presbytery and a pastor for many years at Kettle Moraine Presbyterian Church in Hartland, Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha, St. John’s United Church of Christ in Hartford and Slinger, and at many other churches within Wisconsin and around the country.
Wayne helped coordinate and participate with the Nike Shoe Collection, Relay for Life, the Girl Scout Day Camp, and several domestic missionary trips as well as a few in Mexico. He also cofounded the Bonner Scholarship Program at the College of the Ozarks at Point Lookout, Mo., as well as Delmina Woods which is a camp for inner-city children in Forsyth, Mo. Wayne enjoyed time with his family and his cherished grandchildren. He loved to sing and often sang in church.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Emily Guderyon of North Lake; his loving children, Rebecca (Russ Haase) Carver of Neosho and John Adcock of Hartford; cherished grandchildren, Erica Anne, Austin David and Lauren Estelle Carver; and his dear sister, Ola McNaughton of Arkansas. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, siblings-in-law, other loved relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, William “Punch” and Ruth (nee Waldrip) Collom; his beloved wife of 53 years, Linda Adcock; his son Mark Adcock; brothers Gerald and James Adcock; and sister Jan Hickey; and siblings-in-law.
Memorial services for Wayne will be held on Tuesday, December 15, at 4:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Hartford, 738 W. Monroe Ave., Hartford, WI 53027, with Pastor Paul Johnsen officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday, December 15, from 2-4:00 p.m.
A celebration of Wayne’s life and graveside services with family and friends will be held on Saturday June 11, 2016, in Doddridge, Arkansas.
