June Swartz (nee Couture)

June Swartz (nee Couture), 88, born May 28, 1927, to Joseph and Aagot (Werner) Couture in Milwaukee, passed away peacefully at ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
She was united in marriage on April 3, 1972, to Peter L. Swartz from New Berlin. She is survived by her sisters Janet (Marlowe) Nortrom and Joan Cherone; children James Hall, Barbara (Joseph) Monty, Sharon Ludwig, Sandra Ripienski and Robert Swartz; and 15 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
June was employed by AT&T for more than 35 years until her retirement.
June and Peter then relocated to Shawano, where they lived out their retirement for over 20 years. She loved traveling all over the United States and also visited many counties around the world. June enjoyed many hobbies including cross stitch, crochet, crafts, playing bridge, bingo, and watching Packers football.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society for many years and the Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano. June stayed active in her retirement by doing swim aerobics at the local recreational center.
She also was an avid reader and loved her new addition of a Kindle.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Swartz; daughter Patricia Mueller; sister Annette Kerbel; and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, from 9 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
