Roger P. Sprung

Roger P. Sprung died Saturday, Dec. 19 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Ardmore at age 66 after a long illness. He was born Aug. 26, 1949, in Waukesha to parents Herman and Betty (nee Ries) Sprung.
Roger was a 1969 graduate of Waukesha High School. He attended Waukesha County Technical Institute before entering the U.S. Air Force in 1971. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years active duty, including six years at Bitburg AFB in Germany and 11 years at Williams AFB in Arizona. Roger worked at several positions since then, his last being a civil service employee at Altus AFB in Altus, Okla.
Roger enjoyed Air Force and aircraft history and was a member of the Arizona Wing of the Confederate Air Force in Arizona for many years. He helped to restore several former Air Force planes for display at bases he was assigned to.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Sydney (Eddy) Erlickh of Riverside, Calif.; stepdaughter Megan (Rick) Singer of Victorville, Calif.; his mother, Betty, of Peoria, Ariz.; his sister, Bonnie (Terry) Hansen of Surprise, Ariz.; his brother, Richard (Neva) of St. Louis, Mo., and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. at a later date.
His family would like to thank the social workers and staff at the Oklahoma Veterans Centers in Lawton, Sulphur and Ardmore for their wonderful and caring service.
