Janet E. Huff, 74, passed away on January 2, 2016, in Riverside, Calif., following a very lengthy lung illness. Jan was born on May 19, 1941, to Blanche and Harold Huff of Waukesha.
Jan graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1959 and from the Milwaukee County Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. After graduation, Jan worked in Milwaukee as a head nurse for a few years before joining the U.S. Air Force for a two-year stint. She ended up at March Air Force Base near Riverside and loved the area and the friends there, so she decided to stay. The remaining time was spent in home health, and the last few years spent as a medical auditor for the state of California. She audited small institutions such as home health agencies, group homes and nursing homes.
Jan loved learning and loved animals. Her cat, Minnie, has already been adopted by one of Janís friends in California.
Jan always spent time in school, earned a Bachelor of Science and took classes in a variety of subjects.
She is survived by her sister, Donna (Huff) Bruce of Aurora, Colo.; two nephews, Chris and Gary; and three nieces, Carrie, Pam and Patty. She also has nine great-nieces and -nephews and five great-great-nieces and -nephews, all who loved her and will miss her.
There will be no service according to her wishes, but her ashes will be scattered into the Pacific Ocean at Dana Point along with a seaside service conducted by her many friends in California.
Janet will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
