Doris Caroline Lutgen (née Bochem) died peacefully at AngelsGrace Hospice on Jan. 18, 2016, in Oconomowoc at the age of 91.
Doris is survived by her children, Philip Lutgen, Beth Kennedy (husband, Ron), Mary Lou Williams (husband, Dan), Tim (wife, Roxanne); her grandchildren Brian Lutgen, Becky Gardner, Brad Lutgen, Brenden Kennedy, Matt Kennedy, Paul Williams, Julie Williams, Ben Lutgen, Nyssa Lutgen, Siobhan Allen, Ray O’Connell, Hannah Lutgen, Declan O’Connell, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Lutgen, and her daughter-in-law Arlene Lutgen.
Doris was born on Jan. 29, 1924 in Waukesha. She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1942. Doris was a dedicated individual who loved music, choir, Girl Scouts, her cabin in Mercer, visiting Door County and spending time with her family. She was an active and dedicated member of the Gethsemane Methodist Church, various bridge clubs, and a charter member of the Pewaukee Women’s Club.
A gathering of friends and family will occur at Gethsemane Methodist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at noon, followed by a celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doris’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Gethsemane Methodist Church renovation project. The family would like to thank caregivers at AngelsGrace Hospice for their outstanding care and dedication. The family would also like to acknowledge the endless compassion and care given to Doris over the years by her daughter Beth Kennedy and her husband, Ron.
