Myron John Toshner
July 14, 1921 — Jan. 31, 2016
Myron John Toshner was born in Birnamwood to John and Theresa (Frimark) Toshner on July 14, 1921. He moved to Genesee in 1936. On July 1, 1944, he married Elizabeth Olson; they were married 71 years and reunited in heaven on Jan. 31, 2016.
Myron worked for Waukesha Dresser Industries. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Army from Sept. 12, 1942, until Jan. 7, 1946. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Genesee Depot. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; son John, and great-granddaughter Carly. He also was preceded in death by his brother Gerald Toshner and stepbrothers James Finney, Robert Finney, Bruce Finney, and Roy Finney, and stepsisters Opal Nardell and Fern Harris.
He is survived by his loving sons David, Tom (Nancy), Todd (Laura) and daughter-in-law Kathie. He is also survived by his grandchildren William (Marilyn) Toshner, Scott (Pamela) Toshner, Meghan (Phillip) Alcorn, Carter, Sarah, Matthew and Ellen. He was Papa to his great-grandchildren Lillian, Victoria, Cecilia, Corina, Cheyenne Toshner and John and Weston Alcorn. He is further survived by his special sister- in-law Sarah Seegers.
A memorial service and Mass will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Genesee Depot, with visitation at noon and a Mass to follow at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Association would be appreciated.
The family wants to extend a special thankyou for the wonderful care given to “Butch” at Sunset Ridge Assisted Living Center in Johnson Creek.
Myron was a loving husband, father, and amazing Papa to his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be dearly missed.
