Beverly A BraunschweigBeverly A. Braunschweig (nee Perry) of Pewaukee passed into eternal life on January 28, 2016. She was born on March 16, 1934, one of two children to Esther and Byron Perry.

Bev grew up in Jefferson and spent many happy days on her Grandpa Perry’s farm riding her beloved pony, Beauty. She graduated from Jefferson High in 1952, where she was known as “Bewe.” Bev had a variety of occupations, including a telephone operator in Oconomowoc, a cook at Pewaukee Elementary, and a special education teacher aid at Waukesha Center Preschool (Happy Times). Bev enjoyed hosting many parties at her lake home and welcomed people to stay at “Heartbreak Hotel” as long as they wished.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Braunschweig; parents, Esther Perry Graikowski (nee Otto) and J. Byron Perry; stepfather, Stanley Graikowski; brother Gerald Perry; and in-laws, Arnold and Anita Braunschweig.

She is survived by her son Bill Braunschweig; daughters Jill (Peter) Opie and Penny Zurn (Mark Van Weele); niece Bethie (Tim) Wattleworth; step-siblings including Phyllis Bickford, Dan Graikowski and Elaine Perry; sisters in-law Lois (Charles) Bartz and Rita (Arthur) Zrimsek; and many other dear relatives and friends. She will be remembered lovingly by five grandchildren, Katie (Tim) Jones, Andrea (Chris) Leaman, Rachel (Jonathan) Fisher, Matt Opie and Leah Braunschweig; and great-grandchildren Brynley and Addilyn Jones, and Olivia and Jackson Fisher. “Love you, Nana darling.”

A celebration of Bev’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Feb. 13, at Galilee Lutheran Church, N24W26430 Crestview Drive, Pewaukee. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services at church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Galilee Lutheran Church or to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County.
