Dennis Howard of Waukesha passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at his home at the age of 84. Dennis was born on April 2, 1931, in Waukesha, the son of George and Elizabeth Howard.
He worked as a firefighter for the city of Waukesha for 31 years and retired as assistant chief. Dennis was a proud U.S. Army veteran, received a Purple Heart, and was a life member of the VFW, DAV, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Dennis will be missed by his wife, Rita; children, Barbara (Mark) Zyvoloski, Linda (John) Collard, Steven (Beth) Howard, Sandra (Peter) Loose, Gregory (Cecilia) Friz and Sally (Joseph) Lloyd; grandchildren, Nelson, Erik, Brendan, Taylor, Matias, Austin, Sarah, Catalina, Dillan, Jamie, Jacob, Max and Allison; great-grandchild Drake; siblings Lawrence (Nancy) Howard and Elizabeth Heinrichs; sister-in-law Helen Howard; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother David Howard; and brother-in-law Harry Heinrichs.
The memorial service for Dennis is on Saturday, February 13, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
