Philip K. ‘Phil’ Dressler
Philip K. Dressler of Waukesha died peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the age of 97 years. He was born in Tarrytown, N.Y., the son of Eric and Elizabeth Dressler. Phil was a proud United States Army World War II veteran, serving in the Signal Intelligence Corps for three years. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Class of 1941, with a degree in finance, was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, the UW Alumni Association and Kiwanis International.
Phil retired after 39 years as a vice president of the Trust
Department at Marshall & Ilsley Bank. Phil and Flora moved to Texas for nine years, before returning to Wisconsin for the remaining years of their retirement. They enjoyed many trips to Door County. Phil enjoyed a mediocre golf game and excellent bridge game and was proud of his 30-plus years of Kiwanis membership.
Phil will be sadly missed by his wife, Florence K. Dressler (nee Battersby) of 47 years; his children, Elizabeth Dressler of River Falls and Susan Dressler of Chicago; and stepchildren, Lyle Drier of Waukesha, Joan Kaul of Sandwich, Ill., and Ann Rudolph of Wauwatosa. He is further survived by four step-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Phil requested that there not be a funeral service. Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate Phil’s life.
