Anje D. Parker

Anje D. Parker, of Waukesha and Milwaukee, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2016, at the age of 99 years.

She was born on December 6, 1916, in Milwaukee, daughter of Claude H.V. and Rose (Van Roo) Webb.

Anje married Glenn Parker on August 26, 1939, in North Milwaukee.

Anje was a homemaker for over 20 years, during which time she was an officer of women’s clubs and a member of the Volunteers of America board for 10 years. She returned to the working world in 1966 when she took the position of administrative secretary to the dean of the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha campus, beginning at the time the campus was developed. Anje also served on the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Civil Service Commission for nine years.

When Glenn established the Parker Printing Company of Hartland in 1974, Anje joined the company as vice president. They retired in 1982 and moved to Sun City West, Ariz., where Anje was an active member in the Sun West Art Club, the Sun City West Women’s Social Club, Desert Garden Church, and was a 10-year active member of the Jazzercise (Dance Fitness) Club. Anje and Glenn moved back to the area in 1998, living at River’s Edge Apartments in Waukesha.

Survivors include daughter Linda Parker of Delafield; son David (Anne) of Prairie du Sac; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Anje was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; daughter Doris Perez; brothers Howard and Jim; and her parents.

The visitation for Anje will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by an 11:30 AM memorial service on Saturday, February 27, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Elder Dr. Rebecca Imes will be officiating.

Private burial will take place at a later date.
