Albert J. ĎAlí Wetzel

Albert J. Wetzel of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the age of 91 years. He was born in Chicago, Ill., the son of Adalbert and Martha Wetzel.

Al married the love of his life, Helen Lenerz, on June 19, 1948. Al managed A.F. Wetzel & Son in Sauk City. He was a kind, fun-loving, hardworking handyman; his sense of humor made all who knew him laugh. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Albert will be sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Helen; children Alan (the late Wendy) Wetzel, Martha (John) Verbeeck, Mary Jo (Paul) Dahms and Ed (Kim) Wetzel; grandchildren, Tracey, Stacey, Katie, Nicole and Tim; great-grandchildren, Halle and Jacob; son-in-law, Dave Richter; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Jean Richter.

A visitation for Al will be held on Wednesday, March 2, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to take place at 11:00 a.m. at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Jose Nieto will be officiating. A burial will take place privately at Saint Aloysius Cemetery in Sauk City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimerís Association of Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, 620 S. 76th St., Suite 160, Milwaukee, WI 53214, would be appreciated.
