Kenneth L. Jacques

Kenneth Lee Jacques, age 80, of Iron River, Mich., passed away Feb. 26, 2016.

He was born on June 26, 1935, the son of the late Wildfred and Helen (Brunswick) Jacques. He attended the Stambaugh Schools and graduated in 1953.

Kenneth married the former Theresa Cirello on Sept. 10, 1955. They lived in Waukesha, for 42 years and came back to the area in 1998 upon retiring. Last fall, they joyously celebrated 60 years of a beautiful marriage.

He was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, UAW, VFW Iron River Ottawa Post #3134 and also the St. Cecilia Men’s Club.

He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was a true Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. He enjoyed gardening, being in nature, and playing cribbage with his friends. He was very proud of being a U.S. Marine Veteran serving in the Korean War. Kenneth was a very loving husband and father.

He loved his grandchildren immensely. He worked at Allis-Chalmers/Siemans for 42 years. His work ethic was strong and he was known for his honesty and integrity. He was known as the “Big Kahuna” by his friends and co-workers.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Theresa Jacques; son, John (Jennifer) Jacques of Hortonville; daughters, Julie Tieman of Mukwonago and Lisa (Scott) Karchunas of Chesterfield, M.; brother, Larry (Martha) Jacques of Flushing, Mioch.; sister, Darlene (Kurt) Malmquist of Zephyerhills, Fla. He is further survived by grandchildren, Laurel and Cassidy Tieman; Sarah and Marshall Karchunas; Alex, Katie and Grace Jacques. He also leaves behind his three “favoritest” nieces, Sherry Woodzinski, Darlene Carlson and Jill Ponozzo.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Dennison.

Visitation will be held at the Jacobs Funeral Home, 405 West Cayuga St., Iron RIver, Mich., today, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, Mich., on Tuesday, March 1, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Veneklase to officiate. The West Side Veterans will accord military rights following the service.

Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery in the spring.
