Paul Robert George Bratz Paul Robert George Bratz, age 86, of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.

born on March 26, 1929, in Oconomowoc, the son of Paul and Ella (nee Behling) Bratz. He was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. He was husband to (Carol) Margaret Ellsworth for 65 years. Together they raised 11 children. Paul served in the United States Marine Corps from February 4, 1946, until February 1948. He was a telephone switch board operator in Thinsing, China.

Paul had a farm in the Ashippun area then later farmed in Clyman. Margaret and Paul then moved to Richwood. He retired from Dousman Sand and Gravel as a heavy equipment operator. Prior, he had worked for Vulcan Materials. He belonged to Local 139 Operating Engineers. Paul was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Richwood. He was the president of Richwood Softball Association. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Paul (Patti) Bratz, Rickie (Steph) Bratz, Danny (Peggy) Bratz, Donna (Tim) Stankey, Diane (Jerry) Bowman, Dale (Dawn) Bratz, Judy (Rod) Kuehl, Jayne (Mike) Budewitz and Sluggo (Staci) Bratz; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother Robert Bratz; sister-in-law Lois; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ella; sons John and Wayne in 1984; grandson Gerald “Bucky” Bowman Jr.; sisters, Mary Maach and Gloria Faltersack; as well as brothers John and Edwin Bratz.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 9, at Hafemeister Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Schoeneck officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post #189, was conducted at Richwood Cemetery.
