Susan L. Krist (nee Zipfel)
Feb. 16, 1952 — March 30, 2016

Susan L. Krist (nee Zipfel) Susan L. Krist (nee Zipfel) of Waukesha passed away peacefully on March 30, 2016, at the age of 64, in her home and surrounded by her family.

She was born on Feb.16, 1952, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Zipfel. In 1975, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UW–Milwaukee. A natural born caregiver, Sue worked for 32 years as a registered nurse, the majority of that time at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital. Sue enjoyed walking, gardening, nature, reading, arts and crafts, traveling, volunteering, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also a longtime member of Ascension Lutheran Church.

Sue is survived by her daughters, Jill (Kurt) Burie and Lisa (Scott) Seamans; grandchildren, Benjamin, Abigail, Lorelai, and William Burie; mother, Dorothy Zipfel; sister, Sandy Fleury; and loving companion, Dave Brauch. Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Richard Krist, and father, Robert Zipfel.

The visitation for Sue will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St. Waukesha, WI 53188. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. The Rev. Chris Marien will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the places where Sue volunteered her time regularly and were near to her heart: Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 200 S. Executive Dr. # 203, Brookfield, WI 53005, Stillwaters Cancer Support Services, 2607 N. Grandview Blvd. #110, Waukesha, WI 53188, and Ascension Lutheran Church (see above address).

A servant of the Lord, Sue wore her blessings well!
