WALLACE, IDAHO

William F. Stollfuss III
March 31, 1938 — Jan. 30, 2016

William Frederick “Bill” Stollfuss III, 77, of Wallace, Idaho, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Jan. 30, 2016, at Kootenai Health in Couer d’Alene, Idaho. Bill was born in Ripon to William Frederick Stollfuss II and Beulah (Gibson) Stollfuss. Bill attended Waukesha High School in Waukesha. In high school, he soared at swimming. Bill was married at the young age of 17 to his first wife, Kitty. Together, they had four children.

In his younger adult years, Bill worked and excelled at being a door-todoor salesman. This is how he met his second wife, Mary Jo Steinmann. They were married and together they raised two sons. In 1977, they moved from Milwaukee to Poway, Calif. This is where Bill started his carpet business and became “Bill the Carpet Guy.” He became one of the top carpet salesmen and installers in San Diego, Calif. After he retired, he moved to Wallace, Idaho, in 2004.

Bill enjoyed photography and was a member of Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Couer d’Alene. This is where he built and found his loving relationship with the Lord. Bill was a very kind and loving man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was definitely a “give the shirt off his back” kind of guy.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Frederick Stollfuss II, and his mother, Beulah Stollfuss.

He is survived by his children William (Dorothy) Stollfuss IV of Camden, Ohio, Cory (Amy) Stollfuss of Coeur d’Alene, Darcy, William (Vera) and John (Denise) Gilane and Kathryn Sibley; grandchildren Alex, Jessica, Noah, Jacob and Jayden Stollfuss.

He is further survived by his sisters, Christine Baker, Cynthia Callewaert and Heidi Jacobson, and many other nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, his family is asking that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity in Hayden, Idaho, and to to Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Coeur d’Alene.
