March 8, 1961 — April 15, 2016
Kevin A. Dunn, age 55, of Brookfield, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Friday, April 15, 2016. Kevin was born in Waukesha on March 8, 1961, to Paul and Shirley Dunn as baby brother to Colleen and Kathy.
Kevin was a graduate of Waukesha South High School Class of 1979 and earned a bachelor’s degree in English from UW-Milwaukee. Kevin moved to Brookfield in 1992 with his wife Mary. Kevin was a real estate appraiser and worked as her partner at Barta Appraisal Service.
Kevin was blessed with a close-knit family and many true friends. He was a talented golfer and an enthusiastic fisherman. From an early age he was a voracious reader who never withheld a recommendation or a book from his personal library. Kevin was also a gifted storyteller. Through his writing, he found an outlet for his intellect and razor-sharp wit. Laced with his keen sense of humor, the engaging commentary covered all topics he loved: the Green Bay Packers, his culinary exploits, favorite TV series, random nonsense and everything golf.
Above all else, his greatest passion was his wife, Mary, and daughter, Grace.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Shirley Dunn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Mary Jo (nee Barta); daughter Grace; and sisters Colleen (James) Hulen and Kathleen (Patrick) Martello. He is further survived by brother-in-law Jeff (Joette) Barta; nieces and nephews James Hulen, Kerri (Doug) Grant, Angela (Clinton) Stowe, Courtney (Dylan) Arntzen, Casey (Jacob) LaConte, Alex (Chelsey) Barta and Drea (Kyle) Arn; and great-nieces and nephews Maddi, Ellery, Annie, CJ, Freddie, Mason, Jack, and Lincoln.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha.
